ummm....

last night in lodging =)
last night with internet =(
Thank God for my iPhone!

Today I went to a Japanese cooking class with the spouses association.  16 of us carpooled to a community center off base where we were met by 16+Japanese women who taught us how to make 5 different Japanese dishes.  The fellowship was great and the food was great.  I wish we could do this once a week, or at least once a month!  A couple of the dishes were so yummy that I will definitely be making them again and I'll be sure to share the recipes with you when I do!  (I CANNOT WAIT TO START COOKING AGAIN!)

We made chicken and shrimp balls

that were steamed

then fried

The awesome "Stacey-san" who I met in our head start class.  She's cool, I like her =)

We had some pumpkin

and eggplant and cucumber salad (MY FAVORITE)!  I didn't take a photo of the salad except at the end when it was all put together...

and rice balls, some flavored, some plain with salt

and soup

all the food plus grapes and Asian pears

The whole experience was awesome and I'm glad I'm able to share it with all of you

The lady on the left is the spouse of one of the other 3 engineers on base.  ESSAYONS!

This is Louise, she's only been here a few weeks longer than us but she's been a great help to us!

We move into our house and get all of our HHG/UB TOMORROW =) so I will be pretty busy for the next week or so unpacking and getting everything settled.  We won't have internet in our house until the end of the month but I'll post again as soon as I can!
