MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

I don't do this every week, but I like the questions this week, so I'm going to participate!

This week’s questions are:

1. What’s the nicest thing a MILSPOUSE has ever done for you?
I blogged about this here but I'll tell y'all again.  The day we arrived in Japan, the guy who came to pick us up was not prepared for all the stuff we had with us. We were going to have to get a hotel room at Yokota AFB (almost 2 hours away) just so we could leave some of our stuff behind and have someone go get it later in the week. Luckily, we had met a woman in Seattle who was also headed to Camp Zama and she had mini van (which is almost unheard of here) and was so gracious to pile a load of strangers belonging in and drive them to the base for us.  This woman didn't know us except for the 2 minutes we had talked to her in the Seattle airport, she had no idea what we had in those bags, yet she helped us out, no questions asked!  After she dropped our stuff off and headed home, she came back to drive us and our dog and dog cage to the kennel so we didn't have to haul it all up the hill.  She hadn't seen her husband in like 6 weeks yet was willing to delay spending time with him (and catch up on her jet lag) just to help out some strangers.  We are eternally grateful to her!

2. How often do you drive faster than the speed limit?
Not as much since we've been here.  Sometimes it's hard not to speed here because our car doesn't have cruise control!  At the same time, our car has the tiniest engine ever, so it's hard to go too fast and there's so much traffic that we're lucky if we actually get up to the speed limit most of the time

3. Did you have a nickname in school? If so, what was it?

Gumby.  I got it playing softball.  A pitch came way inside and I jumped and my legs went flying in 2 different directions and someone yelled "I haven't seen anyone move like that since Gumby" and it stuck =)

4. If your life was a book, what would the title be and how would it end?

Hard question! "Only Me"....my grandma used to love to hear all the crazy stories that happen to me, she always wanted me to write a book about my life.  I hope it would have a happy ending!

5. Look back (in your planner if you have one) to September 14th… what did you do that day?

Learned how to drive in Japan

PS Did you see the MilSpouse Secret Santa going on?!?!?  I can't wait to surprise someone with a fun gift from Japan =)  Hurry and sign up before you miss your chance!
