Finish This...

I've seen this link up on quite a few blogs recently but I always forget about it until it's too late.  I finally remembered in time to participate this week!

FinishThis--SMALL

My favorite makeup item is ..
Mascara!  I look so tired without it.  But that's boring, so I'll share with you my other "can't live without" product, Benefit Erase Paste.  It covers under eye darkness like nothing else I've ever tried!

The best book I've ever read was ____ because …
My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George.
Don't judge me, it's been my favorite book since I was a kid and every time I read it, it's just as good as the 1st time.  I love getting lost in Sam's adventures.

My favorite TV show is …
Nothing is really coming to me on this one.  We don't watch a whole lot of television.  Do NHL playoffs count because I just can't get enough of them right now! {GO PENS!}

The most spontaneous thing I’ve ever done is …
Of significance?  Married my husband.  We never got engaged, we jump straight from dating to marriage and it was the perfect decision for us.

I prefer DOGS/CATS because …
DOGS!  Because I'm allergic to cats.  And this guy, this guy made me a dog lover for life!

I met my significant other …
Through a mutual friend On Facebook, through a mutual friend, thanks to this gorgeous photo.  Almost 9 years ago!

This Week's Eats {A link up}

Another menu link up!  I love how this keeps me accountable for my meal plan each week.  Meal planning, when I stick to it, helps us save money, waste less, and it's just so nice not having to think about what I'll make for dinner every single day.  Jason doesn't often make requests for dinner so when he does it's almost a given that I'll make it for him, whatever it is.  Even though we just had sausage and kraut, he asked for it again so it's back on the menu for the week.   We have a fundraiser for our Relay for Life team at a restaurant this week (if you're so compelled, you can make a donation via that link over on my sidebar, I'll be talking more about that more in the near future) and we have friends coming to visit next weekend so this is an exciting and unusual week for us.

Sunday:  Grill
Monday: Sausage & Kraut
Tuesday: Chicken Tikka Masala
Wednesday: Relay for Life fundraiser at Rubio's in LaJolla
 (if you're in the area, come out for dinner and support the fight against cancer!)

Thursday: Crockpot BBQ Chicken and homemade coleslaw
Friday: Tasty Shrimp {this has been on my pinterest for ages and I always put it in the running for the weekly meal plan and it always gets nudged out by something else, not this week.  It better not dissapoint!}
Saturday: Rebecca & Seth arrive in SoCal!!!!!!!!!!  Late night bites will be had in LA!

Monday: Chicken Bacon Ranch mac & cheese
Tuesday: French bread pizza (the perfect way to use the other half of a loaf used for garlic bread over the weekend)
Wednesday: Our favorite Crockpot tacos
Thursday: Chicken Salsa Enchiladas
Friday: French Onion soup and paninis

Weekly Meal Plan {a link up}

Just like last year, we're starting the year our with our own made up paleo/cleanse.  I don't have time nor the desire to go through the caffeine withdraws so beside my down to 2 coke a day habit, we're eating completely clean.  No sugar, no processed foods, no fast food, no JUNK!  Week 1 was ok.  Everyone talks about how good they feel and how much energy they have but my body didn't react that way.  I was tired all week and had a nagging headache (that wasn't from caffeine withdraw because I didn't give that up).  It was miserable.  Yesterday and today were better.  I'm still waiting for that incredible feeling I hear about.

I'm a little late to the show but I decided to join in on Jessica's weekly meal plan link up.  I love meal planning, I think it has to do with my general preference to have control and make lists.

Monday:  Cabbage Soup (I normally love cabbage soup but this was really disappointing.)

Tuesday: Rotisserie Chicken Chili

Wednesday: CrockPot Pot Roast

Thursday: Thai Curry

Friday: Grilled Salmon and sesame noodles (using julienne zucchini for the noodles)

Saturday: Pulled Pork

Sunday: Fajita Lettuce Wraps

Some of these recipes call for sugar and I'll simply substitute honey, or soy sauce and I'll substitute coconut aminos.  It's so easy to make little changes and still eat your favorite foods in a much healthier fashion.
